Hi Carl, To the best of my knowledge the ubuntu-mobile project is initially aimed at Intel's new wireless handhelds and does not initially include a gsm phone. Initially there will be no support for architectures other than the x86 platform, so it would not work with most existing PDAs out there. For now, a phone/pda/project that might meet your needs is the openmoko project.
