Dear Greg,

Interesting to note your efforts in bringing quality Health Care IT to
US. There
are few efforts in this direction.

I happen to be the promoter of few health care software projects in
India since
2003. Must confess that I was never into the health care sector earlier
but the
urge to make things better in developing world got me into the (ad)venture!

Here are a few links that could be further leveraged if further enhanced and
offered.

http://in.zudha.com

The projects are hosted at SourceForge.net since 2005.

Saukhyalite is an Open Source web based system for nursing homes
developed using
LAMP. This was implemented in a hospital in Bangalore connected to Seventh Day
Adventist Network.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/saukhyalite

Dear Dr. is a Patient Records Manager easy to install on physician
laptops/PCs.
Developed with Java Swing and has embedded Derby database.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/deardr

Medistore is useful for Pharmacies to manage medicine stock etc. Easy to
install, developed in Java Swings and embedded Derby Database.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/medistore

Lab Rep is a laboratory reporting tool helpful for clinical labs to
store data.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/labrep

We had also developed an online SaaS based HIS available at
http://www.healthandme.com:9870/SaukhyaPro/ and a Personal Health Record
Manager hosted in early 2006 at http://www.healthandme.com:9870/MyRecords/
similar to what Google Health is now preparing. PS: These are not in the Open
Source domain.

Unfortunately, we could not continue the development cycle at Zudha due to a
business glitch in early 2006 and also there was no community participation
from my region to take it forward. At times, it is not so comfortable to be on
the other side of the globe :-)

If you feel appropriate we can collaborate and make things happen in
the coming
years not only for the USA but also for all the Peoples.

Wishing you the best.

Regards,

Rajesh
