I'd suggest it explain the difference of open source somewhat, maybe contain a list of equivilent programs for proprietary one's, and possibly even a guide on how to switch including the details of repartitioning. If you want help on any of these areas in particular just let me know and I'll do what I can.

Hi all,

Several of us are about to start work on a 'Switching from Windows'
guide [1][2]. The aim of this guide is to help Windows users make the
switch to Ubuntu as easily and painlessly as possible.

Within this guide we have planned a chapter on 'reasons to switch'. We'd
like this chapter to be a small(ish), high-impact set of reasons to use
Ubuntu instead of Windows, perhaps similar to Apple's switching website
[3]. Hopefully, this could also be re-used in marketing materials.

Does anyone have any ideas or comments on how we could do this, or what
the chapter should contain? Any input you have would be very much
appreciated.

Many thanks,

Phil
