I think usage like this could be good: ppa-purge [options] { [ ppa:<ppaowner>[/<ppaname>] | <URL> [ [component] ... ] ] | [component] ... } ppa:* form is reserved strictly for PPAs. Other repositories can be given in URL form (i.e. http://*). And all given components (such as trusty-proposed) must match for the repository to purge.
