I used synaptic to remove all evidence of libreoffice from my system

I did a search from "/" as root and found no libreoffice files. Just for
paranoia sake and to remove doubt that there is some hidden directory
containing office.
Nothing found.

I used synaptic to install libreoffice 1:5.0.3~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty2

When I click on LibreOffice from the menu or the panel shortcut, NOTHING
HAPPENS!!!!!

I rebooted my system.

When I click on LibreOffice from the menu or the panel shortcut, NOTHING
HAPPENS!!!!!

ps -A reveal NO process for office!!!!

My System: Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64-bit, Cinnamon version 2.8.8
Linux Kernel 3.16.0-38-generic
AMD Phenom II x4 810 Processor x 4 with 8GiB memory
