Why are you trying to install no longer supported software on a no longer supported operating system? http://software.decisionsoft.com/ recommends you use xqilla instead of pathan which is in the Ubuntu archives. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases lists the currently supported Ubuntu releases. You need to upgrade to at least Ubuntu 10.04.
