There actually was a recent followup in this bug (#417757). It seems that Firefox has an alleged workaround for this, but so far we don't have anyone who had time to take a look for the general eglibc case. (I still have a router which has that problem, standard German Telekom gear - SpeedPort W7xx thingy).
