No, it's been explicitly anti-anybody-who-can't-configure-a-server-without- a-GUI. Clearly a whole different issue. >> It's been said before, and I will say it again. Good analogy. They still have to pass a driving test. If they can't drive a stick-shift, then I definitely want them driving an automatic, so there's one less thing to distract them. My mother never could get the hang of a standard transmission. As soon as we got an automatic, she passed her test and has always been a far better driver than me... > So there is webmin, ..., ..., ..., oh you don't like them because they > don't also steer for you or something? I don't think anybody in favour of the idea has even suggested that webmin might not be an appropriate tool, though I admit I've been out of the discussion for a couple of weeks. > Unskilled users have no business running servers. This is where a lot of > you and a fair few of us differ. No, really. Nobody is arguing that they _should_ run servers. Unfortunately, it's going to happen, and it's better for everybody if they can't shoot themselves - and the rest of us - in the foot while they're doing it. -- derek -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
