you could take a look at gnome-system-tools or the guidance project. both already provide a d-bus based interface for system administrative tasks. you would only need to work on the package management task. afaik mvo currently works on a socket based interaction with apt. and finally the networking part :) since dbus over ethernet does not yet exist. cheers, sebastian
