capnahab : Mmh, grub is what starts ubuntu and linux once your ubuntu system is installed, however according to your description, it is not your case yet since you are trying to install ubuntu. Perhaps that you speak about Xorg (graphical interface?). Also, normally, you can add "all_generic_ide" in boot options with F6, but not F4 (which is the graphic mode). I guess you meant F6, did you?
Once again, I invite you to open a new bug report with a detailed description of what you want to do and exactly where it fails (including everything that happens before it fails, and what happens when it fails). In fact, your can simply write all steps to reproduce the bug, and do a detailed description of the bug itself. This will greatly help me to have a deeper look at this problem and to help you to provide all informations to identify the bug and try to find a workaround. -- boot stalls in "waiting for root file system" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227003 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
