Hi,
        I did two things.  Firstly I went back to grub and invoked the Gutsy
kernel and I used the gutsy kernel with hardy for a few months.  The
second thing I did was to have a 500 gig drive fitted to my box as
master.  I then did a CD install of hardy 64 bit amd on the new drive
with no issues.  Well I still have to get a few things running with fire
fox plug ins.  I suspect that you need more work on download checksums
error recovery etc.  Regards Ian.
