I changed my mind, if I'm going to be using open source OS, the least I can do it to comply with requests such as yours. So: 1) I download the program afresh and installed it from a CD "inside" Avista SP1 2) I was able to get to the OS and download all the updates -- would linux-image-2.6.27* have been included in all that? If no, tell me how.
BTW, it appears to working... for the time being.
