Sorry. I'm a newbie. I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my M200. My Toshiba M200 is in a docking station with external monitor connected on the docking station's VGA.
After Ubuntu suggested the use of the nvidia driver, I enabled it. After doing so and rebooting my screen was gone and only visible on the (closed) laptop. As a workaround I disabled the nvidia driver thus going back to use the standard ubuntu (free) Xorg driver. This works but doesn't allow for 3D/ 2D desktop effects and probably hinders some Math programs, don't know yet. I hope my comment is ok. Just wanted to let you know, there is more than one user with this issue. -- Laptop screen doesn't dpms off when using an external screen (Toshiba M200) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210230 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
