Plasmoids are saving their states directly...or not, depending on how
you call the KConfig stuff.

But the normal behaviour with ctrl+alt+backspace is to kill X completly,
and go back to init 3 or 5 (depends on the distro ;))

To catch this, which is not the intented behaviour imho, you need to
catch the signal before X catches it, and behave like a normal
application SIGNAL("quit()") connected slot.

I never saw it on kde 3.5 therefore I don't expect it to work on kde4.x
