FOLKS!!! I FOUND SOLUTION TO MICROPHONE PROBLEM WITH SKYPE anyway.. that was the BIG BIG hard one for me to get going.
I have Ubuntu 8.04 and getting Skype working with mic was tough as nails. Mic performance was also up and down, practically depending on the time of day. But I found recently posted info on a website that whatever it did, created a "pulse" selection for sound devices in Skype. THAT did the trick.. now I have all kinds of apps all using PulseAudio (including a Windows in a VirtualBox session) and all sound is working, including Skype conversations. Here is the link, and what you need to the stuff described as "Part A" .. that's it.. to summarize, it's creating a couple of config files within your own home directory: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578 -- Microphone not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80531 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
