You have been subscribed to a public bug by Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand): Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I recently updated to ubuntu hardy beta, from gutsy. I had previously developed a database which I use very frequently. I had previously posted this bug: #154491, which describes that I had to change the JRE environment openoffice comes as default with, to be able to properly run a robust form in my database. The problem is that after upgrading, openoffice.org 2.4rc2, as it stands in this beta version, says that: "Openoffice.org requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE)" to perform this operation. The selected JRE is defective. Please select another version or install a new JRE and select it under Tools - Options - Openoffice.org - Java" The thing is that I when I go to that menu, I initially notice openoffice hasn't loaded the JRE that I had installed previously in Gustsy. It takes some seconds to "think" and there are the two packages: 1.6.0_05 and 1.5.0_15 But when choosing either of them, it simply keeps showing the same message. When I restart openoffice.org, and go to the menu again, I notice again that none of the selected packages is chosen as default. But regardless of the fact that I chose them again, a different one every time, I get the same annoying error. I can then assume that openoffice.org 2.4rc2 is not properly coexisting with the previous JRE I had been using from Gutsy, and I think this can be very critical. Thank you. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- openoffice.org base can't load databaseb form due to JRE problems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210845 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
