Hi, I have this problem too.
Sony PCG-FX340 laptop with Intel i815
1024x767 display, but 800x600 is used by default and I can't set it any higher.
Previous versions of ubuntu and debian, before the new xorg autodetection
changes, corectly picked 1024x768.

To be precise, I'm running debian testing, but I pretty sure it's the same
problem. I have the problem with all versions of the xserver-xorg-video-intel
driver I've tried: unggnu's in the previous post
(http://people.ubuntu.com/~bryce/Testing/intel/hardy-i386/xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.3.1-1ubuntu1~bwh3_i386.deb)
,debian testing's, and debain unstable's, and have made sure xorg.conf is
regenerated (there's nothing in it regarding resolutions.)

I've attached my Xorg log.

Has someone reported it upstream to xorg yet?
