I had the same problem. I tried to get the latest stable version for ubuntu from the www.abisource.com. It did not help. Then I install older libgtkmathview0c2a (0.7.8-1) from http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/libgtkmathview0c2a. It seems working
