@sammydlm: Let's test out on your machine and see if we can fix it by simply create a link:
1. Rename the alsa-driver folder by running the following command: $ sudo mv /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver1 2.
