I found Dasher, which is part of the Gnome Desktop. It installs by default in Ubuntu 8.04 and can be found under System>Preferences>Assistive Technologies. Dasher offers good potential for people with motion disabilities. So disregard my previous post please. I probably should have posed my question on Ubuntu Forums in the first place.
