Tried the patch. Re-compiled AMD64 applet now loads, but seems to be
stuck in calibration. Judging by the developers help file comments, it
may not be too big a loss if it doesn't work correctly. It's apparently
early in development.

Anybody know of another way to control Gnome for someone with
neurological upper extremity handicaps?

Keyboarding is what's difficult. Mousing is okay, but I'm overusing my
right hand. Already had bilateral carpal tunnel surgery, right hand
first, but more nerves involved now. I hate to complain, but I'm looking
for a way to overcome a what could be a permanent and perhaps worsening
condition. Certain vendors specialize in providing modified interfaces,
but not for Linux as far as I know.
