I have the same problem... 2 weeks into a fresh install of 7.10. Just 30 minutes ago it started to freeze and had to shutdown using the power button. I'm running ubuntu on a HP Compaq nx7300.
The first 2 times I had managed to start up a rhythmbox instance, but the 3rd time i only got a browser up, then all input was lost, except the hardware keys (poweroff, wireless, sleep, volume controls and display brightness). Oh and it happened on battery power and AC power, but it seems that if I start the session on AC and never plug it off, I manage to have control long enough to post yet another pointless bug report to the ubuntu community. Losing control of your machine is pretty far removed from the ubuntu phylosophy, and I'd rank this as a critical bug, so ... I assume it'll get fixed in ubuntu version 9.06, looking at previous response times. -- Hardy: mouse and keyboard freeze https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
