"What version of ubuntu do you use? What happens if you run: $ sudo dpkg --configure -a $ sudo apt-get install -f $ sudo apt-get install --reinstall update-manager-core ?"
Thanks, MIchael Well, this lost my update manager completely. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 with kernel 2.6.25. Before the "reinstallation" of the update-manager i had a problem with updating update-manager-core. I just couldn't update it. So i tried the solution above.. And if I try to install update-manager again it says: update-manager is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source However the following packages replace it: update-manager-core software-properties-gtk E: Package update-manager has no installation candidate I'm confused, any ideas? -- update-manager-core requires 0.81 but it is not installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185906 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
