I too see this bug, on upgrading to hardy on my rather minimal (non- GNOME) system on which I still run gnome-settings-daemon in order that my settings will be applied to GTK apps.
$ gnome-settings-daemon ** (gnome-settings-daemon:14491): WARNING **: Couldn't connect to session bus: Failed to execute dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session ** (gnome-settings-daemon:14491): WARNING **: Could not get a connection to the bus Installing dbus-x11 fixed the problem for me too. I believe the missing dependency is in gnome-settings-daemon, not gnome-session. ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: gnome-session => gnome-settings-daemon Status: Invalid => New -- gnome-session should depend on dbus-x11 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
