I got the same problem on current daily build 20080318.1 amd64. On my
system there are two sound cars (primary: Intel HDA onboard, secondary
(Skype, etc...) Sound Blaster Live Value), but I don' think that's the
cause of the problem, since I selected the correct device in System ->
Preferences -> Audio which is working properly on usual applications
like Totem, Rhythmbox etc. and I also have set the Intel card to be the
default one by running 'asoundconf set-default-card Intel'.
