I'm making a couple of vids of the boot-up, so that devs can see whats going on. It seems that it hangs also without the splashscreen. I will update the description and summary as soon as I can confirm this.
** Description changed: As summary says, enabling the splash screen makes hardy sit at the first - splash screen for ages. Removing the splash screen via grub fixes the - problem. This happens from alpha4 (don't know if it could have happened - before, because i was using gutsy). - - Attached is the /var/log/boot file. + splash (the bouncing one) for about 5 minutes. Removing the splash + screen via grub fixes the problem. This happens from alpha4 (don't know + if it could have happened before, because i was using gutsy). ** Attachment added: "usplash.conf" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12441405/usplash.conf -- [hardy] Slow boot up when splash screen enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197228 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
