Saïvann Carignan, I can not reproduce this bug editing the "kernel" line (disabling usplash). The system starts normally. Note: I am the original reporter of usplash bug :-) Attached to this message is a strace of usplash, amd64, on Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon).
