How do you mean? Clicking the mouse is not influencing key repeat, so of course the key will repeat if you hold it down... What is odd is that the gnome-terminal is not being refreshed when holding down a mouse button while a key is being pressed - key repeat kicks in, but the characters appear on the screen only after the mouse button is released.
