Till, We have a fix for this, however we feel that it's a pretty low priority problem and that a patch for hardy isn't needed as the defect has been around for awhile. Also because of the nature of the defect it more than likely effects a very small percentage of users and only users with the Deskjet 89x series printer.
However this will be fixed in the next release of hplip. But if you have a differing view please let me know and I'll see if Dave can put together a patch really quick. Thanks!!
