I think we may not reach any solution. I opened tons of topic and still no solution :(. by the way what is manufacturer of your harddisks manufacturer? mines are Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB. maybe the problem depends on a specific hardwares, well this is little chance about the problem. still I think its reason as kernel :). because I had used ubuntu6.10 for a year.
