I'm having the same issue as fincan on my Gigabyte GA-P35-PS4 with ICH9R
south bridge. I have two 500GB sata drives in a RAID0 set, and I
already have Windows Vista 64-bit installed and working. Just booting
from the Gutsy AMD64 LiveCD (without attempting to install) and then
doing a restart will cause the RAID volume to appear as "Failed" in the
BIOS screen. After I cycle the power, the volume is fine. Tonight I
installed dmraid after booting from the LiveCD and dmraid -ay gave the
"wrong # of devices" message. Updating my BIOS to F11 did not change
the behavior.
