Sure. But my point is that if tracker automatically stops indexing when the user
is interacting with the computer, he won't probably need/want to know what's the
status. He shouldn't need to care at all. From a user POV, he should just open
tracker-search-tool, or tracker-applet, or nautilus, or deskbar-applet, or
whatever is integrated with tracker, perform a search, and the results will be
shown. He shouldn't be worried on whether tracker is indexing, or is paused, or
whatever.

That's what bug 176981 is about, and as it's just an option I think it's
harmless and should be implemented.

Well, I think the auto-pause option when user is using the system (keyboard or
mouse) should be enabled by default, so you wouldn't need tracker-applet to
enable it. The option could be implemented in tracker-preferences, so you can
activate/deactivate it even if you don't have tracker-applet.
