I also tried the 20060928 daily (alternate, 64-bit) image, and I too have the same result that Joel Ebel had. The Dapper install fails in the way described in the first post. I also tried uplugging the SATA drive and just booted with the pair of PATA optical drives; no change.
MSI P965 Neo, Core 2 Duo E6400. Anything I could provide or do to help get this issue finally resolved?
