Public bug reported:

Title: bitland_mifs_wmi: platform_profile writes accepted but profile
stays "balanced" on 7.3.0-10 (works on 7.0.0-42)

Package: linux (Ubuntu 26.10)
Hardware: Xiaomi/TIMI Redmi Book Pro 14 2022 (sys_vendor TIMI, product_name
"Redmi Book Pro 14 2022")
Driver: bitland_mifs_wmi (platform-profile-0), also loaded: redmi_wmi

Summary
After upgrading to Ubuntu 26.10, the power mode can no longer be changed.
Works on 7.0.0-42-generic, broken on 7.3.0-10-generic.

Steps (7.3.0-10-generic)
1. cat /sys/class/platform-profile/platform-profile-0/choices
   -> low-power balanced balanced-performance performance
2. echo low-power | sudo tee /sys/firmware/acpi/platform_profile
   -> tee prints "low-power", no error
3. cat /sys/firmware/acpi/platform_profile
   -> balanced

Expected: profile reads "low-power".
Actual: write succeeds, profile still reads "balanced".
powerprofilesctl set power-saver (power-profiles-daemon 0.30-2, restarted)
and GNOME Settings > Power Mode both silently revert to balanced.

On 7.0.0-42-generic: powerprofilesctl set power-saver works.
(No platform-profile interface exists for this machine on 7.0, so the
driver is new or changed in 7.3.)

Other info
- amd_pstate active, CPU driver amd_pstate
- Not reproduced on AC vs battery separately; tested on battery
- dmesg after the write not captured; will attach if requested

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
