I investigated further and can confirm this is a build problem in the 26.04 binary, not an upstream bug.
Comparing the archive binaries: jack-capture 0.9.73-4ubuntu1 (noble) Depends: libjack, liblo7, libmp3lame0, libsndfile1 jack-capture 0.9.73-5 (resolute) Depends: libjack, libsndfile1 only In 0.9.73-5 the libsndfile format table generated by gen_setformat_c.sh is empty, and the binary contains "liblame was not installed when compiling" and "liblo was not installed when compiling", even though liblo-dev and libmp3lame-dev are Build-Depends. Both gen_setformat_c.sh and gen_das_config_h.sh detect features by running a hard-coded gcc temp.c 2>/dev/null. In the resolute build, every one of these test compilations failed silently, so OGG/FLAC, MP3 and OSC support were all disabled. The build log should show this. Installing the noble binary (0.9.73-4ubuntu1) on 26.04 restores normal behaviour: --print-formats lists formats and -f ogg produces real Ogg files. Suggested fix: a no-change rebuild might be enough. A more robust fix would be to patch both scripts to use $(CC) with the build flags and to fail loudly instead of silently disabling features. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2156660 Title: Possible packaging issue with jack_capture on Xubuntu 26.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jack-capture/+bug/2156660/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
