The gnome-remote-desktop EGL logic seems to rely on DRM explicit
modifiers, which the OpenGL driver for your GPU currently does not
support. Support for your GPU seems to have been added in kernel 7.3 and
mesa 26.3.

I can reproduce in VirtIO, which presumably also does not support DRM
explicit modifiers.

I don't know how feasible it would be to have the EGL logic work with
DRM implicit modifiers.
