I think this should be raised too. It is a shame IMHO that Gutsy was
shipped with flaky drivers when the legacy ones worked perfectly well,
as far as I can see simply because of a fixation with Network Manager.
The Ubuntu Hardy source for rt2x00 dates back to early November; have
Serialmonkey made no progress since then? The problem with Hardy as it
stands 2.6.24-4 is that the legacy drivers do not work (in my
experience), so we no longer have the option to compile and install a
working older version. Whilst the drivers do not prevent the system
booting, a laptop without a decent wireless connection is badly
hamstrung.
