Thank you for your report. Did your hosting providers give you a
specific reason why they wouldn't support Ubuntu Server for Feisty? Did
they mention which release they would support? I'm assuming they told
you Gutsy? or possilby the upcoming long term support release of
Hardy(which will come out in April)? And which version of Ubuntu are
you currently experiencing the poor write performance with? I am
unaware of other bug reports regarding poor write performance for the
mpt fusion drivers. That's not to say it's not an issue, I'm just
unaware of a resolution and solution to suggest to you which may have
been reported earlier.
I'm also curious which version of the drivers you downloaded and
compiled (but have yet to install and test). Just to let you know, the
version in Gutsy appears to be:
mptbase.h:78:#define MPT_LINUX_VERSION_COMMON "3.04.04"
And for the current Hardy Alpha release: mptbase.h:78:#define
MPT_LINUX_VERSION_COMMON "3.04.06"
