Hi Krystian, Thank you for providing the workaround script. I can confirm that it successfully patched the .deb packages, and I was able to install and boot into the mainline kernel 7.2.0-070200rc5-generic (I temporarily disabled Secure Boot to allow the unsigned kernel to run).
I have tested the shutdown sequence with the external HDMI monitor connected, and the system now powers off completely and correctly. The bug does not reproduce on this kernel version. Please let me know if you need any further testing or additional logs from my end. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2163121 Title: [Regression] Laptop fails to power off completely when HDMI is connected in kernel 7.0.0-28 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2163121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
