Thank you for the answer. I got confused by the comments in chrony.conf:
# Use time sources from DHCP. # Those could be non-NTS sources. If you want to avoid unauthenticated NTP # sources comment the following line. (LP: #2115565) sourcedir /run/chrony-dhcp It suggests that if non-NTS sources are picked up from DHCP, they will be used. This is not what I experienced. If the policy is to be the most secure, I understand that we would not want non-NTS sources unless the admin intentionally specify so. However, I think that this is significant change of behavior for anyone relying on DHCP-provided sources. It worked on Ubuntu 24.04 and won't on Ubuntu 26.04. Maybe we need to add this is the release notes ? https://documentation.ubuntu.com/release-notes/26.04/summary-for-lts- users/#chrony -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2155165 Title: chrony does not select NTP servers from DHCP: : no required source in selectable sources To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chrony/+bug/2155165/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
