https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/2154227 has been filed for a future second attempt at removing the profile without breaking thumbnailing. A sampling of the autopkgtest failures seems to show all of them being infrastructure issues, so I'll look through those (and submit test plan verification results) soon.
