Public bug reported:
Fingerprint enrollment worked on libfprint 1.94.9+tod1-1build1 but
segfaults since upgrading to 1.95.1+tod1-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 26.04.
Hardware: Minisforum X1 AI Pro
Sensor: Realtek USB2.0 Finger Print Bridge (2541:fa03)
Kernel: 7.0.0-15-generic
fprintd-enroll completes 8 scan stages then fails:
Enroll result: enroll-unknown-error
EnrollStop failed: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply
dmesg shows:

The device 2541:fa03 is listed as supported in:
/usr/share/metainfo/org.freedesktop.libfprint.metainfo.xml
/usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-autosuspend-libfprint-2.hwdb
No TOD driver .so exists - /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfprint-2/tod-1/
directory does not exist.
/var/lib/fprint/ is empty (no enrolled prints survive the crash).
Steps to reproduce:
1. fprintd-enroll -f right-index-finger
2. Complete all 8 scan stages
3. Daemon crashes on save attempt
Regression from 1.94.9 -> 1.95.1.
