I think my report fits under the title of this bug thread. Although I don't know, if my patch work for ethana2, who told he did extensive manual configuration. Although the changes I did in xorg.conf may not be so extensive, I had to do work in searching and trying different options. Maybe using similar xorg.conf would have worked for ethana2, too.
Thanks for telling X works dramatically better in the next release with this specific GPU, ethana2.
