Hi Brett, thanks for pointing out that there is a known cloud-init packaging issue that is causing some trouble on upgrades. (We have to keep that in mind when we do the final testing of plucky, that incl. dist-upgrades as well).
And yes, Francis and Patricia, the MAAS problem seems to be a different/separate issue. Patricia opened a separate LP bug on that here: LP#2092232 and it turned out to be (highly likely, but still not verified, since difficult to verify now) and apparmor issue (see comment #22 ff) Still wondering what's happening here, since installs are fine on P10 and P9 PowerVM partitions, but ONLY fail on P9 bare metal. I think it could be a kernel dd problem or missing bits in the inird?! @Francis since you (kernel test team) are testing the kernels before release (iirc on P9 bare metal systems?), have you ran into this issue as well? (Or haven't you ran into this because you have a plucky system already installed and you just update the kernel to the one that needs to be tested, rather than doing a new installation?) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104297 Title: not able to netboot install a Power9 bare metal with Ubuntu 25.04 Plucky To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-power-systems/+bug/2104297/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
