I found this bug separately and went to file a formal bug report, so I am glad to see this is already in-progress, especially by the Server Team.
This bug is now a release blocker for Lubuntu 25.04. After my own round of testing, I concur with the patch, and strongly believe the Release Team should allow these changes into Plucky.
