After pressing escape, I see an "enter your password to unlock nvme crypt:" type prompt at the top of the screen. If I start typing each key I press puts a space character / moves the cursor one character to the right. If I type fast enough (ie, at a reasonable speed), the cursor stops moving and nothing has any effect except for a hold-the- power-button shutdown, but no messages are displayed.
