Thank you for the explanations, and for looking to make a new report against snapd if the problem persists.
I believe by default snapd won't auto-update any running snaps, for a period of 15 days. If 15 days have passed but at the time of the auto- update check the snap is still running, snapd will go ahead and update it anyway. So it would be interesting to check two things: - How long has passed since an update has become available but the snap wasn't updated? Is it more than 15 days? If yes, that may be a snapd bug. - If it's been less than 15 days and you have had the system up and running continuously for multiple hours (so that at least one snapd update check would have occurred), and you've seemingly closed the Firefox snap but it still wasn't updated, it might be that the Firefox snap left behind lingering processes even after being quit, which could trip up snapd and cause it to not auto-update the Firefox snap. You could check for firefox processes using either GNOME's System Monitor or similar, or from a terminal by running something like "ps aux | grep firefox". Hope this helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2074295 Title: Firefox won't auto update on Ubuntu 24.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/2074295/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
