Putting Virtualbox 7 into the Ubuntu LTS repos is problematic too, since
as per comment #25, that change will also break people's VMs.

5.15 is a LTS kernel version. I think it is reasonable to expect it to
continue to support the applications that ran on it at the time it went
into LTS, even if those applications are themselves out of support and
would not work on the latest kernel.  LTS is supposed to be stable, not
breaking combinations of things that worked yesterday, at least not
without a very good reason.

Good luck with the upstream bug, @mapengyu, and thanks for your efforts.
It's great to know that the root cause has been isolated, and the
possibility of a solution is in sight.
