** Description changed: Fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 on multi-boot system. Steps: 1. Switch on computer. 2. You see for about 10 seconds a black screen instead GRUB MENU. 3. After 10 seconds Ubuntu boots normally. Extra tests: - During the 10 seconds of black screen, I can press ENTER and Ubuntu will boot. - I thought that maybe grub menu was just not visible but still there, so I've tried to use "arrow keys" (up and down) to select a different system and then press Enter... but nothing happened, the screen remained black. + --- + ProblemType: Bug + ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu79 + Architecture: amd64 + CasperMD5CheckResult: pass + CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2022-03-19 (1 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Alpha amd64 (20220318) + Package: grub2 (not installed) + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-23.23-generic 5.15.27 + Tags: wayland-session jammy + Uname: Linux 5.15.0-23-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True ** Attachment added: "ProcCpuinfoMinimal.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965689/+attachment/5571165/+files/ProcCpuinfoMinimal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965689 Title: Black screen instead grub menu at boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1965689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
