I completely removed the Nvidia driver installed by Kubuntu. Now running nouveau for my display. Been drawing/painting for about 30 minutes, and everything seems to be working fine now, even though it drawing and painting is painfully slow.
It seems that this may actually be related to the nvidia driver I was using. I will double check, but do problems sometimes come up when either the wacom driver or the nvidia driver updates?
